Now I’m slightly ahead of where I thought I’d be. I think the lighting may be broken for animated models, however, so I’ll need to see if it is. For now, I’m happy.
Here’s the initial test:
With some basic diffuse lighting from a point light. Earlier, I only had directional lighting working. It’s tempting to add phong and other models, but I’ll leave it at this basic level for now and may start on some of the tasks for next week.
Running this on a retail kit does show one glaring issue that I’m about to attempt a fix for. When rebooting, the unit hangs and there’s no recovery from it. In all my years playing Dreamcast games, I’ve only had one crash occur. I’d prefer to avoid that in this demo.
